Gary Bolen
As a founding partner and Executive Creative Director of RBG, Gary has created and produced many corporate
ID programs, worldwide satellite product launch events, advertising and direct response campaigns, sales
kickoff events, collateral, trade exhibit designs, interactive CD-ROMs, product demonstrations and websites.
Gary has been working as a creative director and communication strategist in the high technology industry in
Silicon Valley for the past 21 years.
Prior to forming RBG, Gary held the position of Corporate Creative Director at Tandem Computers in Cupertino,
California from 1980 to 1991. His roles and responsibilities were to create a consistent brand image and
awareness of Tandem in a rapidly emerging on-line transaction processing market.
Gary’s accomplishments included creating and implementing a new corporate identity program worldwide. He
staffed a marketing communication department, working closely with Tandem executive staff to create and
produce the Tandem Vision. Gary created the standard for all sales tools and created and managed many
worldwide product launches-NonStop TXP, NonStop CLX, NonStop VLX, NonStop Cyclone and NonStop CycloneR.
He produced many Major Account Marketing events, worldwide sales kickoff events and seminar programs.
These marketing programs span the gammet from communicating VLSI gate array technology to explaining
non-technical specific industry business solution applications.
Gary has extensive international experience creating and producing many international product launches and
sales kick-off events in Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, Toronto, and London. Prior to joining Tandem Computers in
1982, he worked 14 years in the advertising industry in Los Angeles, California. He created print and
broadcast advertising for many national brands including: Yamaha, Carnation, Sheraton Hotels, Gallo wines,
Atari, Rockwell International, Investor’s Daily, and Fairchild.
